Statue of Emperor Franz Joseph
Bad Ischl, Oberösterreich, Österreich
In 1910, the Kaiser Jagdstandbild was unveiled to mark the occasion of Emperor Franz Joseph's 80th birthday. The statue, created by Georg Leisek, is from a photograph depicting the Emperor engaged in one of his favoured pastimes, hunting. The statue stands on a stone block , which weighs at least 13 tons . The block was transported from the Wachau by train and horse-drawn vehicle . At the unveiling ceremony 3000 hunters filed past the Emperor.
