Our hotel and restaurant is located at the Rathausplatz directly in the center of Gmunden. The location directly on the lake guarantees an impressive view of the Traunsee and the surrounding mountain scenery. Gmunden is the gateway to the Salzkammergut and the sights of this world-famous region are right on our doorstep.
Open on Monday to Sunday from 09.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. all-year.
Hot meals from 11.00 a.m. to 08:45 p.m.
Christmas 2025:
24th December 2025 Restaurant closed from 02:00 p.m.
25th December 2025 and 26th December 2025 Restaurant closed from 05:00 p.m.

How to get to the Seehotel Schwan in Gmunden in the Traunsee-Almtal region:
We recommend travelling by public transport!
By train:
via Attnang-Puchheim station on the Salzkammergutbahn (line 170) to Gmunden station, from Gmunden station with the Traunseetram (line 161) from Stern & Hafferl to the Gmunden Rathausplatz stop, also coming from Vorchdorf Eggenberg or Gmunden Engelhof (Park & Ride). The bus stop is just beside the hotel.
Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim railway station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or on the Salzkammergutbahn in the direction of Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee.
By bus:
OÖVV bus lines 507, 505 or 533 as well as city bus lines from Gmunden, bus stop Gmunden Rathausplatz. The bus stop is approx. 100 metres away.
By bike:
The Seehotel Schwan is also very easy to reach by bike. The Traunvierteltour and the R4 Traunradweg (also as a feeder to the R 2 Salzkammergutradweg) lead directly past the restaurant. Cycle car park right next to the restaurant.
by car:
Motorway A1: From Munich/Salzburg or Vienna/Linz - exit A1 Regau - B145 to Gmunden, also from Bad Ischl on the B145 - directly to the town centre
Parking in the town centre:
underground car park approx. 300 metres away, numerous parking spaces in the town centre (short-term parking zone during the day).
Please only use the designated car parks and show consideration for private property!
