Salzkammergut Mountain Bike Trophy
The Salzkammergut Trophy is a major mountain bike race in the Alps that takes place around Lake Hallstatt every year. With 5,000 participants from over 40 nations, it is one of the biggest MTB events in the region. The longest route of the race stretches over 213 kilometres and 7,049 metres in altitude and leads through the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt/Dachstein-Salzkammergut. This route is considered one of the most impressive and beautiful marathon routes in Europe.
Salt and Lake Trail
On the Salt and Lake Trail you have up to 7 days to ride two routes of 400km/8000hm or 280km/5000hm through fantastic scenery. The unsupported bikepacking adventure starts in St. Gilgen am Wolfgangsee. The routes lead over public tarmac, gravel and forest paths through the magnificent mountain and lake landscape of the Salzkammergut.

4 million Germans already own a racing bike. In order to be able to offer the racing cyclist also what he needs one must be professionally set up. For this reason, six regions in Upper Austria and Salzburg have joined forces and founded the "SalzburgerLand Salzkammergut racing bike region" together with racing bike-friendly businesses.
The racing bike-friendly area stretches from Salzburg far into the Salzkammergut region and from the northernmost part of the Salzburger Seenland to the Dachstein region.
