A musical and literary journey to a ‘near distant land’
Audience favourite and actor Cornelius Obonya takes his audience on a journey to Galicia and Bukovina, once Austrian crown lands on the easternmost edge of the Danube Monarchy. Accompanied by Andrea Linsbauer (piano), Radosław Pujanek (violin) and Olena Herneha (soprano), he takes us to former centres of European cultural life, now located in Ukraine, including the vibrant capital of Lviv and the multi-ethnic city of Chernivtsi, formerly known as ‘Little Vienna’.
The musical programme includes works by F.X.W. Mozart, H. Wieniawski, E. Młynarski, J. Engel, H. May, M. Skoryk, A. Rubinstein and F. Kreisler. This multimedia journey is accompanied by literary texts by J. Roth, R. Ausländer, P. Celan, K. E. Franzos and others.
