The fairy tale train on the Traunsee Tram takes children aged 3 to 10 on an enchanting ride through the heart of Gmunden. After receiving headphones at Engelhof station, the journey into a world full of exciting fairy tales and tricky puzzles begins. Listen to the stories, let yourself be enchanted and enjoy an unforgettable tram ride!

The stories are told by regional children's book author and storyteller Martin Windischbauer – a real treat for little fairy tale fans! As a special highlight, each child receives a small gift as a souvenir.

Meeting point:

• 1st trip: 8:30 a.m. at Gmunden Engelhof station (departure: 8:45 a.m., return: 9:28 a.m.)

• 2nd trip: 9:30 a.m. at Gmunden Engelhof station (departure: 9:45 a.m., return: 10:28 a.m.)

How to get to the fairy tale train on the Traunsee tram to Gmunden Engelhof in the Traunsee-Almtal region:

We recommend travelling by public transport!

By train:
Take the Salzkammergutbahn (line 170) from Attnang-Puchheim station to Gmunden station. There are numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn towards Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee.

Continue with the Traunseetram (line 161) to the Gmunden Engelhof stop or, coming from Vorchdorf, also to the Gmunden Engelhof stop.

By bus:
OÖVV bus lines 533 and city bus lines from Gmunden, Gmunden Bahnhof Engelhof stop

By bike:
Gmunden Engelhof station is also very easy to reach by bike. The Traunviertel Tour passes very close to Gmunden Engelhof station, and in Gmunden you can connect to the R4 Traun Cycle Path and R 2 Salzkammergut Cycle Path. There is also a good cycle connection from Vorchdorf via Gschwandt.

By car:
A1 motorway: Vienna – Voralpenkreuz-A1 – A1 Laakirchen West exit – B144 via Laakirchen to Gmunden – B120 to Gmunden Ost – roundabout Gschwandt in direction Baumgarten and Gmunden East, P & R facility at Engelhof station
A1 motorway: Munich – Salzburg – A1 Regau exit – B145 to Gmunden (also arriving from Bad Ischl) – B120 to Gmunden Ost – roundabout Gschwandt in direction Baumgarten and Gmunden East, P & R facility at Engelhof station

Parking:
We recommend using the Engelhof P&R facility.
