Welcome St. Nicholas

Welcome St. Nicholas in the parish church St. Gilgen.

The figure of St. Nicholas is based on the Bishop Nikolaus of Myra, who lived in the then Asia Minor in the 4th century and worked tirelessly helping the poor. His life’s work led to many legends being written about him including his secret giving of small gifts. In general he has become regarded as one of the most important saints.
