About the accommodation

We, Bernhard and Sonja, are excited to be your hosts in beautiful Bad Mitterndorf. We are personally here for you and have lovingly furnished our apartments with care and thought. This way, you have several options to prepare your coffee, good pans, and enough glasses for toasting. And you'll sleep particularly well on the GEA molton pads and organic linen sheets. Do you have questions? Please feel free to contact us, and we can answer them for you. It is very important to us that you feel completely comfortable with us.

Dogs are only allowed in mini size here. An additional cleaning fee of €25 per stay will be charged, payable on-site.

In the box in the hallway between the apartments, you'll find a bookshelf, some games, and especially for our younger guests, books, games, and art supplies. We can also provide a high chair.

In addition to the great option of using the sauna, we also enjoy our large garden (including a garden shower), love our own vegetables, and are happy to provide tips for various activities in the region. Come and see for yourself :) Sonja is also a yoga teacher. You can book your personal private lesson at the house or join her group classes in the village. Yes, and in our garden, there’s also the opportunity to chill in the hammock, meet around the campfire, or use our natural benches for dinner on a summer night.

The sauna with shower and toilet in the basement and the brightly lit yoga room will be completed in January 2026 and can also be used by arrangement.

You can store your skis in the garage. Your bikes have a shelter on the terrace in the garden.

The apartments are located in our house. This means you share our private entrance and hallway. Therefore, we kindly ask for considerate behavior and quiet periods for everyone. Party groups and loud bachelor/bachelorette parties are asked to look for another accommodation. We look forward to welcoming nature-loving, open-minded people and families.

Surroundings

Nestled in the lake landscape of the Salzkammergut, you will find us between the town centers of Bad Mitterndorf and Bad Aussee. Just a 5-minute drive to Ödensee and 10 minutes to Grundlsee. And the Altausseer See is only 15 minutes around the corner. For skiing and cross-country skiing in the winter, head to Tauplitzalm (or Loser) and ideally right from the front door.

The Kainisch train station is just around the corner, and you can even walk to the nearest supermarket in under 10 minutes. You can enjoy wonderful meals at the Knödlalm, and the local mountain "Kampl" can be climbed directly from the front door.

In winter, the free ski bus stops next to the Volksschule Knoppen bus stop. With this bus, you can travel for free to the village and the toll station. Continuing to the cable car or up to the Tauplitzalm is only possible with a valid ski pass, cross-country ski day pass, or bus ticket.

About the hosts

We both have a strong connection to nature. This is evident not only in our love for outdoor activities but also in how we live, manage the garden, and run our household. How we shop, eat, and travel. Bernhard's passion is agriculture (especially fruit tree pruning ;-) ), while mine is holistic yoga. Last year, Bernhard walked the Camino for the second time, and Sonja cycled from the front door to her vacation in Croatia.

We want you to feel completely comfortable with us. So we're happy to be here for you :-)
