The renowned Wimsbach company was founded in 1921 by Franz Hochleithner as a shoemaker's workshop in Fischlham. In the post-war years, Franz Hochleithner moved his family and the company to Bad Wimsbach. In 1962, Alfred Hochleithner I took over the business and expanded it by trading in shoes and sporting goods as well as leather goods and textiles. In addition, the business premises were continuously enlarged.
The family business has now been run by Alfred Hochleithner II since 1990. The ground-breaking ceremony for the current business premises took place in April 2001.
