The Pühringerhütte is a managed alpine hut in the Tote Gebirge, accessible from Gößl am Grundlsee, and provides hikers in the Ausseerland with a rustic place to rest with overnight accommodations.
The Pühringerhütte is located at an altitude of 1,637 m above the Elmsee in the Toten Gebirge of Styria. As an Alpine Club hut of the Wels section, it is a popular base for mountaineers and long-distance hikers in the Ausseerland.
Access is via a marked path 213/214 from Gößl am Grundlsee, taking about 3.5 hours. The hut is idyllically nestled between rocks and forest and is managed from early June to early October.
In addition to 15 beds and 50 dormitory places, there is an emergency room in winter with 20 sleeping places available.
The Pühringerhütte offers simple but tasty mountain hut cuisine with soups, snacks, and daily changing hot dishes.
Products from the region and freshly prepared meals ensure authentic mountain food in a cozy atmosphere.
Besides the culinary offerings, guests appreciate the ideal location of the hut: It is a stage destination on the long-distance hiking trail 201, the Via Alpina (Violet Route), and the Welser Höhenweg.
Popular summit destinations such as Elm (2,128 m) and Rotgschirr (2,260 m) are directly accessible from the hut.
In winter vacation until the summer months 2025.
