Experience the summer
in the Salzkammergut
The motto of the summer holiday is to arrive, dive and revive.
Anyone who has experienced it, will always want it.
Sommer retreat reloaded
Come with us to the lake kingdom of the Austrian Pre-Alps. Into the heart of the country, where already the emperor and his court lived in summer resort. More than 100 years later, this diverse region has become even more attractive. As an antidote to the city monotony, to the sultry, stuffy air around the metropolises, and as a scenario of hope that something like a natural recharging station still exists.
#real time instead of reality
One thing is clear, in the Salzkammergut nature determines the daily program. As long as the imperial weather wants it, you SUP gently across the lake and look for a pensive viewing spot. If the first clouds appear, the bathing towel is exchanged for the bicycle saddle. Or you hike high up and let the mountain panorama turn your head.
If you swap your horsepower for a bike battery, you will experience the Salzkammergut in a new and summery way.
The first long-distance hiking trail through the Salzkammergut measures 340 kilometres and is a string of dream trails. Everyone should hike at least one of the more than 40 tours during their summer holiday.

From the magic of water- lake addiction says hello!
The Salzkammergut lakes would be a veritable lake district if they were not separated by mountains such as the Schafberg, the Höllengebirge, the Tote Gebirge and the Osterhorn group. Their elevations range from just below 500 m a.s.l. at Mondsee to high mountain lakes such as Wildensee (1535 m) in the Tote Gebirge north of Grundlsee. Several dozen lakes invite for bathing: of them large inland lakes like Traunsee or Attersee, or small mountain lakes like Almsee, Offensee or Laudachsee.
Paradise is on the lake, special in the Salzkammergut. Sun and carefree, snorkeling and weightlessness, refreshing coolness and the joy of movement, this is the legendary summer resort in the Salzkammergut.
The gentle lapping of the waves, the shimmering sunlight, the fresh air at the lake, the reflection of the landscape in the water: lakes and mountains form a unique bond in the Salzkammergut.
Anyone who has not explored the Salzkammergut lakes by boat has not really been there: because not only the landscape shows its most beautiful side from the water.
Faistenauer Jedermann 2022
From 08 July to 13 August 2022, the Faistenau Everyman will take place again. The performances are always Friday and Saturday at 21:00. Before the performances there is always a square concert at 20:00, where admission is free. Please note that in case of bad weather the performances will not take place.
Only every 3 years the stage play is performed at the picturesque village square under the 1000 year old lime tree of Faistenau. And therefore we want to take the opportunity to bring you a little closer to the open-air performance, which has been held with great success since 1955:
As early as 1950, the amateur dramatics group of the local history society "Zur Alten Linde" in Faistenau, played with the idea of performing a folkloric Everyman as an open-air play. But for financial reasons, the first performance did not take place until 1955. Guests from near and far regularly attended the performance, the number of visitors grew and the Faistenau Everyman also came to the attention of the press and radio.
