Description: The Hohe Holzmeisteralm is closed from the end of September to the beginning of June!

Welcome to the hut Holzmeisteralm at the foot of the Dachstein!

At the foot of the Dachstein

Embedded in the Dachstein massif is the Upper Lakte Gosau with the hut "Hohe Holzmeisteralm". Hike from the Lake Gosau to the Upper Lake Gosau and then stop at the hut "Hintere Holzmeisteralm". You could also hike further to the Adamek hut.

The hut host Lisa spoils her guests with local delicacies and cool drinks, which can be enjoyed right next to the beautiful Upper Lake Gosau.

We are only open for you in summer.

The Hohe Holzmeisteralm is right next to the Hinterer Gosausee. It can be reached on foot via the hiking trail past the Vorderer Gosausee and the Gosaulacke.

By car
from Salzburg:
Highway exit Golling - Abtenau, Rußbach, Gosau
Gosau: after the Pass Gschütt junction, turn right onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 7 km you will reach the Gosausee.

From Linz:
Regau highway exit - Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern, Gosau
Gosau: at the Pass Gschütt junction, drive straight ahead onto the Gosausee Landstraße, then after approx. 7 km you will reach Lake Gosau.

from Vienna/Graz:
Liezen highway exit onto B320, in Trautenfels turn onto Salzkammergut Straße B145 to Bad Aussee, continue on the B145 towards Bad Goisern, take the B166 ramp to Golling/Gosau/Obertraun/Hallstatt/Bad Goisern-Süd, turn right at the Gosaumühle junction towards Gosau
Gosau: at the Pass Gschütt junction, drive straight ahead onto the Gosausee Landstraße, then after approx. 7 km you will reach the Gosausee.

from Villach:
Tauernautobahn to exit "Eben im Pongau", via B166 Pass Gschütt Bundesstraße to Gosau
Gosau: after the Pass Gschütt junction, turn right onto the Gosausee Landstraße, after approx. 7 km you will reach Lake Gosau.

By train
Route Attnang-Puchheim - Stainach-Irdning
Arrival by train in "Steeg / Gosau" then continue by bus 541 in the direction of Gosaumühle, change to bus 542 in the direction of Lake Gosau

By bus (Sundays irregular):
Bus 470 (Abtenau - Gosau) direction Gosau, bus stop Gosau Abzw. Pass Gschütt
change to bus 542 direction Gosausee, get off at the bus stop "Hintertal b.Gosau Gosaukammbahn" and you will reach the Gosausee.
