Day 1 – Individual arrival in the Ausseer Land region
Your Austrian gravel adventure begins in the heart of the Salzkammergut, in Bad Aussee. This is where mountain charm and lifestyle come together. After checking in at the Hotel Erzherzog Johann, there’ll be time for a stroll through the spa town or for your first sundowner whilst taking in the mountain views.

Day 2 – Gravel bike tour from the Ausseerland to Gröbming | 70 km | 1,500 hm
Gravel & Flow in the Ausseerland: past lakes, through quiet valleys and over the first gravel sections towards the Schladming-Dachstein region. Your route offers views of the Schladminger Tauern, whilst a mix of flowing sections and challenging climbs ensures plenty of variety. At the end of the day, a cold beer in idyllic Gröbming beckons – indulgence is simply part and parcel of a gravel bike holiday in Austria.

Day 3 – Gravel bike tour from Gröbming to Filzmoos | 45 km | 900 hm
The stage is set for the big gravel moment: from the gentle trails of the Enns Valley, you’ll ride up to Ramsau am Dachstein. Here, the gigantic south faces of the Dachstein massif tower directly above your gravel track – a sight you’ll never forget. Afterwards, you’ll cruise leisurely into the alpine village of Filzmoos, where coffee, cake or Kasnocken await as a reward for your ride.

Day 4 – Gravel ride from Filzmoos to Gosau | 50 km | 1,300 m elevation gain

The route takes you over gentle passes and along alpine gravel tracks towards the Gosaukamm. The striking Bischofsmütze peak accompanies you. A flowing gravel ride through forests, past alpine pastures where cows graze in the meadows, and finally the grand finale: the view across to the glacier of the Dachstein massif. A real highlight of this multi-day gravel bike tour in Austria.

Day 5 – Dachstein Loop gravel bike ride from Gosau to Bad Aussee | 40 km | 500 hm

To round off your Dachstein Circuit gravel bike tour, a mix of idyll and adventure awaits you once more. You’ll ride downhill along the Gosaubach until, suddenly, the deep-blue Lake Hallstatt glimmers between the mountains – one of the most iconic spots in the Salzkammergut. The route continues through the tranquil Koppenwinkelsee nature reserve, along the Koppentraun and over the Koppen Pass back into the Ausseerland. Luggage sorted, a celebratory beer waiting – a feeling of pure bliss guaranteed.
