Warm regards from our summer retreat—or...colorful greetings from Bad Ischl.
The Gmunden Art Association launched five years ago with major regional projects; in addition to the annual Gmunden Art Walk at Seeschloss Ort and the charity vernissage at the k-hof Kammerhof Museum, additional exhibition formats have become established in recent years. Summer exhibitions at restaurants, participation in the Gmunden “Mondscheinbummel,” and appearances at international art fairs followed. New additions to the association’s portfolio include themed group exhibitions at prestigious venues in the Salzkammergut—this year in Bad Ischl and next year at the Hipp-Halle in Gmunden. From August 17 to 30, the association invites you to a members’ and themed exhibition at the Trinkhalle in the heart of the imperial city. “Between Water and Light”—between the Traun River, the mountains, and the squares and little squares in the heart of the Salzkammergut—the association offers a small but exquisite glimpse into the creative work of the studios and workshops around Lake Traunsee. On display are works by association members Jürgen Bley, Christine Danninger, Matthias Kretschmer, Inge Kreuzer, Christine Pahl, Christopher Schlesinger, Andrea Sevc, Wolfgang Weisz, Günther Wimmer, Karen Zierler, and guest artist Liudmila Sadoghi. The opening reception is scheduled for the Emperor’s birthday, August 18; the exhibition can be viewed during the Trinkhalle’s regular hours. The works are, of course, for sale. The theme of the exhibition, “Between Water and Light,” was chosen back in the spring, without any inkling that this summer would be characterized by too little water and too much light—that is, sunshine and hot temperatures. Nevertheless, the aim of the summer exhibition is and remains: contemporary art meets a historic setting. In a summer of art, culture, history, and far-too-hot temperatures.Kliemsteinstraße 12/21, 4810 Gmunden
