The Salzkammergut in the grip of World Cup fever

The Dachstein West ski region is set to host a World Cup event at the end of December 2026. Precision, speed and nerves of steel will be required when the Women’s Ski World Cup makes its first stop in the region at the Hornspitz in Gosau, featuring the giant slalom and slalom. Between the Dachstein, the Gosaukamm and the Tennengebirge, a new stage for international skiing is thus taking shape. Where the slopes are usually bustling with families, leisure skiers and winter sports fans in winter, the world’s best female ski racers are expected on 28 and 29 December. Spectators can look forward to a varied programme of events featuring fan activities, culinary delights and regional highlights, but above all, the chance to experience skiing up close and a genuine World Cup atmosphere amidst the stunning mountain scenery of the Salzkammergut.
