This beautiful and easy family walk leads us to the waterfall. According to the legend, the waterfall shelters a nymph.
This family hike starts in Weißenbach am Attersee at the parking lot on Allee. Follow the Artist Trail toward Weißenbachtal until you reach the main road. After about 100 meters, turn right to cross the Fachberg Bridge, then turn left. Hike through the shaded area along the Generations Trail to Nixenfall. This path is well-marked and suitable for strollers (except for the final section).

Along the way, you’ll find a water wheel and numerous interactive stations where children and curious visitors can balance, touch, and explore, making the trail a family highlight. Goblins and stories by Marie Mohn are featured along the route, which children can read or listen to as audiobooks via QR codes.

At the end of the trail, you will be greeted by the impressive Nixenfall, a waterfall about 50 meters high with a mermaid statue. A sign near the waterfall provides information about the legend of the Attersee mermaid.

After a break, retrace your steps to return to the starting point.
