Are you up for a classic multi-day hike with spectacular views in the Northern Limestone Alps of Upper Austria? Crossing this rugged limestone massif promises impressive landscapes, high-altitude trails with stunning views, and varied alpine terrain. Good physical conditioning and sure-footedness are required—especially on the second stage between the Rieder Hütte and the Hochleckenhaus. Day 1: From the inn in Kreh in the Langbath Valley, the route leads over the Feuerkogel to the Rieder Hut (9.5 km, 1,285 m elevation gain, 165 m elevation loss). Day 2: The most challenging stage of the tour is demanding both physically and technically. An early start and stable weather conditions are essential for this stage (9.3 km, 720 hm uphill, 930 hm downhill). Day 3: The terrain becomes gentler again: From the Hochleckenhaus, the route leads via the source of the Aurach and the Taferlklaussee to the Langbath Lakes and finally back to the starting point (14.8 km, 210 hm uphill, 1,110 hm downhill).
