Climbing outside is different

Date: 26.06.2026, 17:00 (AV Haus Mondsee) and 27.06.2026, 09:00 (P&R Mondsee)

The "From the gym to the rock" workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to take their first steps on multi-pitch tours on rock. Climbing outside is different - the necessary skills are explained here during a theory evening in the Alpenvereinshaus and practiced extensively on the rock on the practical day.

Leader: Jörg Unterberger and Valentin Auer

Content/program: Equipment knowledge, route planning, knots and rope technique, belaying, rope team procedure, abseiling

Services: A theory evening in the clubhouse and practice on the rock the next day (probably at the Müllner Schanze climbing garden in Salzburg).

Prerequisites: Safe lead climbing in the hall up to difficulty level 5a, Alpine Club membership

Equipment: Climbing shoes and climbing harness (with gear loops), alpine climbing equipment incl. helmet (only if available); equipment can be hired from the AV. Opening hours every Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm
