By train:
From Wels train station, take the Almtalbahn (line 153) towards Grünau im Almtal to the Viechtwang stop;
There are numerous connections from Wels train station to the main train services on the Westbahn line (line 101).

Continue on foot to Kaplanstock in Viechtwang. Approx. 10 minutes.

By bus:
OÖVV bus line 533 Gmunden - Scharntein - Grünau - Almsee; Viechtwang Museumstraße stop. Continue by walking to the Kaplanstock Viechtwang, approx. 5 minutes.

Take the Salzkammergut Shuttle Service route 52 from Laakirchen to the Viechtwang train station/Almcamp Schatzlmühle stop, or from Vorchdorf take the Salzkammergut Shuttle Service route 70 to Scharnstein. Please call the taxi center at least one hour in advance at +43 50 422 422 to reserve a taxi.

Bike & Hike, Arrival by bike:
Coming from Wels or Linz on the R4 Traun Cycle Route or the R6 Roman Cycle Route, or from Gmunden on the R4 Traun Cycle Route, or from Passau via Vöcklabruck and Schwanenstadt on the R6 Roman Cycle Route to Lambach, past the Traun Power Station in Lambach, and to Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting in the direction of Vorchdorf-Einsiedling. Continue briefly on the cycle route onto the R13 Traunviertel Cycle Route to the R11 Almtal Cycle Route via Pettenbach to Viechtwang. Also on the cycle route on the Traunviertel Tour from Gmunden via St. Konrad and Scharnstein to Viechtwang.

By car:
Motorway A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A9 - Ried/Tr. exit. - Voitsdorf - Pettenbach - Scharnstein
Motorway A8 Passau - Wels - Voralpenkreuz A9 -
Motorway A1: Munich - Salzburg - Regau - B 145 to Gmunden - B 120 to Scharnstein - Scharnstein - Viechtwang junction - Parking at the cemetery or at the Viechtwang town square
