The "Andreas Varady Trio feat. Bertl Mayer" presents compositions from the album "Sunrise", which was recently recorded as part of the Ö1 Jazz Scholarship, as well as songs from the Great American Songbook.
 
The trio members are bachelor students at the JAM MUSIC LAB Private University. Thatiana Gomes is a sought-after live and studio bassist. Andreas and Adrian Varady come from a Slovakian family of musicians and began their career in Switzerland at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The virtuoso jazz guitarist Andreas Varady was discovered and signed by Quincy Jones as an exceptional 14-year-old talent. In 2023 he won the Ö1 Jazz Scholarship. Drummer Adrian Varady was already part of "Quincy Jones's Global Gumbo" at the Montreux Jazz Festival at the age of 12. This was followed by performances in jazz clubs and at festivals.
 
Bertl Mayer teaches at the JAM MUSIC LAB private university and has been a professional harmonica player since 1978. He has worked with the who's who of the Austrian jazz scene, from Karl Ratzer to Alegre Correa, the Vienna Art Orchestra, with Karl Hodina and guitarist Vlado Blum he formed the Vienna Jazz Trio, and he has also played with the Camerata Salzburg, Christian Muthspiel and Joe Zawinul.
