During his summer vacation in 1896, Gustav Mahler, influenced by the nature of the Attersee region, created his wide-ranging musical interpretation of the world with a monumental symphony that leads from the awakening of nature to its highest spiritual perfection in six movements.
Each of the movements has its own station at the center of a hiking route that leads through the nature around the center of Steinbach am Attersee.
