Lake Hallstatt Swimming Marathon

The Lake Hallstatt Swimming Marathon is taking place for the twelfth time this year and is one of the TOP sports events in summer. There are three different competitions to choose. 

Good to know

On the 30th of July 2011 was the first international Lake Hallstatt swimming marathon.
The Lake Hallstatt is with his 125m deepness and a water surface area of 8,55 km² one of the Salzkammergut mountains lake and therefor it reaches a maximum watertemperature of 21°C.

Located between Dachstein and Sarstein is it a scenic beauty and offers a lot of possibilities for sportsmen.

The three competitions

Long distance 10 km

Middle distance 5 km

Short distance, 2.1 km

The Bad Goisern water rescue service has been organizing the event since 2023.
