In the midst of a magnificent mountain landscape lies this shelter at 1,638m above sea level. This area is particularly rewarding for the mountaineers.
The Albert Appelhaus is always eager to spoil all hikers with local delicacies, from hearty traditional to meatless. 100 sleeping places are available and the coziness is truly cultivated in this house. The house is located at the intersection of many hiking trails.
Shortest ascent: from Grundlsee, hiking trail 235 Winter closure from early October to early May depending on weather conditions. Exact dates please ask the innkeeper.

via the Tauernautobahn A10, exit at Golling, continue on B162 in the direction of Lammertal, past Abtenau to Gosau, continue to Lake Hallstättersee on the B166, keep left in the direction of Bad Goisern, turn onto the B145 in the direction of Bad Aussee/Liezen
via the A10 Tauernautobahn, take the Eben exit, continue on the B99 in the direction of Hüttau, past St. Martin am Tennengebirge to Rußbach and Gosau, continue to Lake Hallstättersee on the B166, keep left in the direction of Bad Goisern, turn onto the B145 in the direction of Bad Aussee/Liezen
