Our organic mountain farm in the Almtal valley is located in a sunny, quiet spot between Scharnstein and Grünau. After many years with Merino sheep, we made a conscious decision to switch to Jura mountain sheep – a robust and adaptable breed that is perfectly suited to our mountain pastures in the Almtal valley.

Our ewes and their lambs enjoy the summer on our mountain pastures. The Jura sheep not only provide tender, aromatic lamb meat, but also impress with their resilience and excellent mothering qualities – ideal conditions for sustainable organic farming in the foothills.

Sustainable wool – naturally recycled

Our sheep are shorn once a year. We use the dirty wool directly on the farm:
in the garden, it serves as a natural fertilizer and water reservoir – perfect for flower beds and vegetable patches. In this way, the wool from our Jura sheep becomes a valuable part of our ecological cycle. No waste, but 100% sustainable use – entirely in line with our organic philosophy.

Regional delicacies – organic lamb from the Almtal valley

Our organic lamb is something very special: tender, aromatic, and naturally raised in a species-appropriate manner.
We cook it directly at the Roithhof for our guests, but regional partner businesses also appreciate our quality:
At Easter and during the summer months, you can find our lamb at the Schmecktakuläre Wirte restaurants in the Almtal valley, and our butcher also offers it for sale fresh.

You can order our juicy, dark Jura lamb directly from the farm – a genuine piece of Almtal organic quality, sustainably produced and raised with love.
