At the beginning of the 20th century a farm, a mill and a sawmill belonged to Josef Mayrhofer. In 19933 he built a chapel out of thankfulness, that he had returned uninjured from the first world war. Next to the chapel he planted a linden tree. Josef Mayrhofer (once the Mayor of the town) looked lovingly after the chapel and loved to visit it. When the plot of land got sold in 1978 the chapel also changed the owner. Johann Pöllmann, Mayor of Tiefgraben, decided that it was time to renovate the chapel. In 2000 the chapel was renovated and it 2014 the ceiling was renovated.
