Handmacher shoes are made by hand in small batches and nailed to the wood.
But it is still true today among connoisseurs: A wood-nailed shoe is unique! What does wood nailed mean? A shoe consists of different assemblies. These main ones are called the bottom, insole and upper leather. In wood nailing, these three assemblies are connected to one another by numerous small wooden nails. This gives the shoe first-class stability, which has a positive effect on durability and dimensional stability.
The best leather guarantees a high level of comfort and a long service life. All leathers are naturally tanned and thus retain their germicidal and fungicidal properties. Plastics and cardboard are not used in these shoes. Handmacher uses natural-colored calf leather for the inner lining without any finishing, which guarantees good sweat absorption and therefore the best shoe climate. A wood-nailed shoe will still look good after years if it is given the care it deserves with good leather grease and a wooden shoe tree. Handmacher shoes can always be repaired by a specialist or our repair service.
