Fishing at the Irrsee

Since 1959 the irrsee is completely under conservation.
​ For fishing you need:
  • fisher card
  • licence
  • licence book
  • catch-list

A fishing permit is required. Children under the age of 12 are allowed due to the OÖ-Fishing law to fish. Fishing license from the age of 6 is for free, but only accompanied by a supervisor, who must have a fishing card. These children do not need official legitimation, but in any case the license book with the registration of the fishing license. Children over 12 years need both: legitimation and license and are allowed to fish alone.

​What is not allowed?
Live baitfish; From 1.11. Until 31.01. The use of the hegenes (paternoster); In addition to a valid annual license, no further license may be resolved.

Accessibility / arrival

West motorway A1, motorway exit Mondsee, turn left towards Zell am Moos. After approx. 3 km you will already reach the south bank of the Zeller or Irrsee.
