Rettenbachalm, home to the Bad Ischl Cross Country Skiing Centre, is one of the largest low alms (Alpine Pastures) in the Salzkammergut. The largely flat alm lies high above Bad Ischl surrounded by imposing mountain peaks, giving it a wonderful feeling of quiet stillness.


The Rettenbachalm guesthouse is a popular excursion destination and starting point for many snowshoe hikes and ski tours.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides from Bad Ischl to the Rettenbachalm (approx. 1 1/2 hours) are an unforgettable experience. Local cuisine, traditional hut evenings with parlor music, framed by a magical backdrop, do the rest to leave everyday life behind.

For celebrations of all kinds, the Alm offers space for up to 70 people. Lectures and seminars can also be organized.
