Lake Augstsee at Loser

On the high plateau of Losers in Altaussee, the Augstsee is nestled between Atterkogel and Greimuth.
A mountain lake that can be easily reached by the Loser Panoramabahn or outside of operating hours via the Loser Panoramastraße. From the mountain station or parking lot, it takes just a few minutes on foot to reach Augstsee.
During the round trip, the Trisselwand is reflected in the water in the back area, and the panoramic view extends into the Tote Gebirge.
Depending on the season, the Almgebiet blooms with various flowers. The Alpenrosen in July create an unforgettable sight.

The Augstsee is usually covered with snow and ice from November until mid-June. In the remaining months, a circumvention is recommended.
A hike around the Augstsee is free of charge.
The ascent via Loser Panoramabahn or Loser Panoramastraße by car is subject to a fee.
