As part of the REGATTA Water Days 2026, the “Weyregg” will be transformed into a floating forum for science, practice, and water protection. Under the scientific direction of the Federal Office for Water Management (Institute for Aquatic Ecology and Fisheries Management), experts will shed light on the current ecological challenges facing Lake Attersee through concise keynote presentations followed by panel discussions.

During the two-hour evening cruise on the lake, the focus will be on pressing limnological questions: What are the consequences of a two-degree rise in the temperature of local waters? How has Lake Attersee changed over the past two decades? And what specific impacts does the increasing spread of the non-native quagga mussel entail? The audience will have the opportunity to ask the team of experts questions directly, join the discussion, and gain deeper insights into the underwater world and the ecological future of the lake.
