In the baroque theater

"No matter where, baby" is the title of a collection of seventy prose texts - micro-novels - that Christoph Ransmayr has written to accompany an image sheet of seventy of his photographs. These photos - visual notes collected on his travels over the last few decades - are projected onto a large screen to accompany his presentation of a selection of texts.

Each text accompanying the image becomes a self-contained, sophisticated piece of prose: a micro-novel. Because expeditions into the moments of reality and into the boundlessness of the imagination can also be told in just a few lines - especially when it is done with the powers of observation and the art of formulation of the worldly-wise Christoph Ransmayr.

The guitar virtuoso and composer Wolfgang Muthspiel accompanies texts and images with variations of the aria Lascia ch'io pianga by Georg Friedrich Händel.
