THE KASBERG COOKS - "Regional, European, tasty and spectacular"

The winter event highlight from the Almtal, "Der Kasberg kocht", will take place again in 2024 and will spoil you with culinary delights, music and top slopes under the motto "Regional, European, Tasty" on Saturday, 2 March 2024.

Together with the Kasberg hut landlords, we will be cooking on the Kasberg on this day. For the seventh time, there will be a gourmet ski experience in the family ski area in the centre of the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut. Jochen Neustifter & the HLW Don-Bosco-Schule Vöcklabruck with the project "Wirtshauslabor Salzkammerguad" of the European Capital of Culture 2024 Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut (Jo's Restaurant in Vorchdorf), with "Die Eiermacher" (from Kremsmünster), Christian Windischbauer (Florianistub'n in Pettenbach), Dick Bos (PBN, Amsterdam), Wirt 4's Fest from Urfahraner Markt, Bäckerei Bruckmühle, Wildparkstüberl and many more will be cooking up a culinary treat for you!

The Kasberg cooks 2024 - unexpected, but all the more so!

We have further developed our successful supporting programme.

With the LifeRadio DJ on the Kasberg piste bully, we will be travelling all over the ski area and rocking the huts! Breakfast at the valley station, other stations in the ski area and the Almtal's top chefs will spoil you until 3.00 pm or until you've finished your meal at the SEPP-HUBER-HÜTTE, the GUB valley station, the SONNALM and the HOCHBERGHAUS. Other gourmet hot spots are at the Ochsenboden/Funjet mountain station with "Closest to Heaven" and right next to the mountain station of the 8-seater cable car "8er Berg"!

At around 3:30 p.m., we'll be celebrating the big LIFE Radio Party on the mountain at the top station of the 8-seater cable car! The 8-seater cable car runs until 07:00 p.m. and takes you to the après-ski party, which rocks at "Bruno's 8erl"!

The GoodyFoody food truck by BiOKRAFTSTOFF and the "Barita Bar" will also be waiting at the valley station! A lottery and an exclusive Kasberg Slope Butler make the event an absolute highlight!

We recommend travelling by public transport so that you can enjoy the snow and flavours on the Kasberg in the Traunsee-Almtal region in a stress-free and environmentally friendly way. This way, the winter culinary experience on the Kasberg can start in a relaxed manner, without annoying traffic jams and without having to search for a parking space.

Public transport to the 7th hut gourmet tour on the Kasberg
The public transport journey is just as varied as the programme on the Kasberg on 2 March 2024. In addition to culinary and musical highlights, the Kasberg is also well connected to the public transport network (accessible by train from Linz or Wels to Grünau im Almtal and the ski bus lines 533 and 534). You can find the best connections easily and with just a few clicks in the OÖVV journey planner. Here's how it works: Simply enter your starting point and destination and the best public transport route to Kasberg will be calculated for you!

In addition, the Kasberg winter shuttle takes you from Laakirchen via Scharnstein, Grünau railway station directly to the valley station of the Kasberg ski area, as do the aforementioned OÖVV bus routes from Gmunden via St. Konrad and Grünau.

If you are travelling on the Almtalbahn from Wels and Linz, you have the option of changing to the winter shuttle at Grünau station.

This is how you get from Linz or Wels to "Der Kasberg kocht":
From Linz main station directly at 7:22 am to Grünau im Almtal arriving at 8:55 am, connection to the bus at 9:00 am or for those who want to sleep a little longer departure at 8:26 am with the Westbahn or at 8:30 am with the ÖBB Railjet to Wels, change to the Almtalbahn, departure at 8:50 am in Wels, arrival in Grünau im Almtal at 9:55 am. Connection with the winter shuttle at 10:00 am to the valley station.

This is the way back home:
Kasberg Wintershuttle at 16:50 to Grünau im Almtal station, take the Almtalbahn at 17:07 to Wels, change to the Railjet and you're in Linz by 18:30. The Kasberg winter shuttle continues via Scharnstein to Laakirchen.
Special trip Kasberg Wintershuttle at approx. 19:48 to Grünau im Almtal station, with the Almtalbahn at 20:07 to Wels, change to the Railjet and you arrive in Linz at 21:30.
After that you can still use Taxi Nussbaumer on 0664/2301910!
