Underwater Crib at Attersee

Once again this year, the "first underwater nativity scene on Lake Attersee" will be sunk on the 1st Sunday in Advent at the "Dixi" entry point in Weyregg!

It will be open to visitors from 30.11.2025 until Candlemas on 02.02.2026 !!!

A diving priest and friend of Gregor Bockmüller from the Under Pressure diving center will do the baptism!

The idea of creating an "underwater crib" was born in 2019 at a board meeting of the Attersee diving competence center.
 
Christine Acker from Austrian Divers came up with the idea and Günter Obersschmid from Hotel-Pension zur Nixe and chairman of the TKZ Attersee took care of the implementation.
 
He contacted the HTL Vöcklabruck and Mr. DI. Josef Stallinger to work out how the students could implement something like this out of metal.
 
After a few meetings at the school, an artist from Salzburg, Ms. Isabella Heigl, was brought in. She then made drawings and the text for the crib.
 
The underwater crèche project was included in the LEADER funding program and implemented together with REAGATTA.
