The unique scenery is enchanting, almost like something out of a fairy tale.

No motorboat restrictions until midnight

Lake Festival Fairy Tale Night—On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the idyllic lakeside town of Traunkirchen on Lake Traunsee will celebrate a true summer fairy tale night. Magnificent buildings, fairy-tale-like lighting along the shore, mountain bonfires on the Traunstein and the Kleine Schönberg, several fireworks displays, the Sonnstein summit illuminated, as well as entertainment and dancing will make this evening unforgettable.

2026 EVENT SCHEDULE

6:00 p.m.: Salute by the Prangerschützen
The Prangerschützen of the Neukirchen Shooting Club will open the Fairy Tale Night.

Starting at 6:00 p.m.: Attractions for children
at the festival grounds: face painting, GONIS craft station, and more.

6:30 p.m.: Kickoff with the Knedltuschern
At Riedlpark / festival grounds.

7:30 p.m.: Show rowing by the Traunseeplätten
As is tradition, about 15 Plätten will row from Winkelbucht to the festival grounds.

8:00 p.m.: Dixieland music with the “Dixie Urtypen” from Ebensee
At Riedlpark.

8:30 p.m.: Departure of the music boats MS Liberty and MS St. Nikolaus
At Riedlpark; musical accompaniment by the “Dixie Urtypen.”

9:00 p.m.: Dancing & entertainment with “REMIX”
At Riedlpark.

Starting at 9:00 p.m.: Fairytale-like lakeside and house illuminations
Lovingly illuminated houses in Winkelbucht, lighting of the Sonnstein silhouette, fireworks in Winkelbucht.

10:00 p.m.: Main fireworks display in front of the festival grounds
Launched from the lake.

Starting at 10:00 p.m.: Open-air party
Top-notch entertainment in Riedlpark until the early hours of the morning.

Shuttle service: to and from the festival grounds

A shuttle service will take you from the volunteer fire department’s station to the town center from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. You can park for free along the former B 145 until 2:00 a.m.
