This museum is located on the second floor of the Kur- und Amtshaus Altaussee.

Reimagined, the Altaussee Literature Museum presents prominent figures from the literature who have worked and continue to work in Altaussee. Originals like the Herzl bicycle or the voice of Torberg are staged.

The local history appears in a new design, and the cabinet of curiosities by Prof. Horst K. Jandl has been uniquely enhanced media-wise.

A new highlight & MUST SEE in Altaussee! All display panels are also available in English!

After the museum visit, literature enthusiasts can browse for the right books in the bookshop on the ground floor.

The literature museum is closed every year on these days:
Carnival (Saturday to Tuesday), Harvest Festival (Saturday to Monday), Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, as well as Sundays and public holidays
