This museum is located on the second floor of the Altaussee Kur- und Amtshaus.

The Altaussee Literature Museum presents a new staging of prominent literary personalities who have worked and continue to work in Altaussee. Original artefacts such as the Herzl bicycle or Torberg's voice are on display.

The local history appears in a new design, and the cabinet of curiosities by Prof. Horst K. Jandl has been uniquely complemented by media.

A new highlight & MUST SEE in Altaussee! All display boards are also available in English!


After the museum visit, you can browse for the right literature in the bookshop on the ground floor.

Nach dem Museumsbesuch wird im Buchshop im Erdgeschoss nach der richtigen Literatur gestöbert.

The volunteers from the Literaturmuseum Altaussee are looking forward to your visit!

Carnival Monday, Carnival Tuesday, Kirtag Saturday, Kirtag Monday, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, as well as Sundays and public holidays
