Mentioned in documents in 1499 Originally a tavern for customs officers Later the so called "Bäckerwirt" This house was mentioned in documents as early as 1499. It was firstly used as a customs officer´s house. A duration of stay in Gmunden came with custom formalities which is why gastronomic businesses can be found nearby customs officer´s houses. In Gmunden this tavern was officially called “Zum goldenen Kreuz” known as the “Bäckerwirt” or just the “Backhaus”. After the closing of the restaurant it has been home to several companies.
