Zahn wayside shrine

St. Gilgen, Salzburg, Österreich
Dr Eberhard Zahn bought a plot of forest land in Plankenmoos.
In 1968 he bought an old farm in Ried by Wolfgangsee and moved to live there. He died in 2010 in the Age of 100. His wife and son Andreas Zahn continued to live there. Not only did Dr Zahn hire someone to built the hut, but he also ordered to built the street up there.
After all the building was finished, he was very thankful that no one had been injured and decided to put up a wayside shrine by the hunting hunt of Josef Eisl, Auer-Hansl.
The Pictures were drawn by Mrs. Adolphine Lindenthaler and she dedicated them to Saint Ägidius, Saint Hubertus and Saint Joseph.

Saint Ägidius: "Right now the forest is green and the mountains are beutiful, but how will it look tomorrow? Think, humankind, before you destroy this beautiful land"

Saint Hubertus: "Please Patron of the forest and of the wild, St. Hubertus, Patron of the hunters, protect the mountainous landscape and its Beauty"

Saint Joseph: "For the brave who do woodwork and look the danger in the eye. Send us your luck"

A lot of bikers and hikers like to stop on their way up to the Eisenau to rest next to the wayside shrine.
The hunter Matthias Appesbacher, son in law of Auer-Hansl also look after the shrine.
The wayside shrine was renovated in 2016 and it has been blessed again on the 27th of august in 2016.
