Geringer grotto

St. Lorenz am Mondsee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
This place of faith is only a few years old. A big tree used to stand here. Through him, the neighbors had a lot of shade, so the couple decided Geringer to fell the tree. Now the big hole in the fence had to be filled. On their forays through the area they found the big stone and had it transported here. The tree, which had already grown on it, became the cross. Mister Zufall played well when Mr Geringer was watching people chop up big trees on the tumpen and realized that a tree trunk was just the right piece for his fence. He bought this piece and created from it the "tree grotto" for the Mother of God. Covered with a roof, it is now placed next to the Rock Cross and is probably the most original place of faith in the entire Mondseeland. It is aligned to the house, but there is an entrance from the street, so that passers-by stop here for a moment and can take a contemplative break.
