Donatus-'Kapelle'

Tiefgraben am Mondsee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
"Saint Donatus we plead to you, that our posessions are protected"
The holy Donatus is the Saint ofn the weather and is called upon for protection from thunderstorms and Lightning strikes.
The legend says:
Relics of the holy Donatus in the year 1652 were brought to Münstereifel. There was a lot of rain, but when they brought out the relics the sun broke through.
The Chapel on the Hilfberg has been standing there since the 18th century.

The donatus Picture is from the year 1865 and was Pretty unrecognizeable when the Chapel was being rebuilt. Prof. Hans Frank restored the Picture in 1993 as a sign of thankfulness for the friendliness that the locals showed to his Family. They found a new home in this area.
The works Hans Frank is Father Leo and his Uncle Hans were shown 2014in the Basilica in Mondsee.
