Gun club Gosau

Gosau, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • All weather

The gun club Gosau, founded in 1623, is by far the oldest association in the Dachstein community.

A traditional association in Gosau

Every year the Privileged Shooting Association Gosau ends the winter season on the first weekend of April with its annual shooting. Here the traditional club chooses its kings shooters with the air rifle.

Anyone who knows the shooting scene in the Salzkammergut knows that living customs have been preserved here.

Crafting, tradition and customs

To preserve the old crafts, customs and traditions is an important concern for the locals in Gosau, Bad Goisern, Obertraun and Hallstatt.

In Hallstatt, a well-known custom is the Corpus Christi procession on Lake Hallstatt, in Obertraun there is the so-called "Oaradln", in Bad Goisern the old craft is still carried out, e.g. at the Goiserer shoemaker's, in Gosau the annual sheep sorting and bringing home of livestock from the mountain pastures is still carried out.

Traditions, crafts and customs that are lived in everyday life and at events.
