The Ruming Mill

Fuschl am See, Salzburg, Österreich

Built in 1872, the Ruming Mill is an old water mill which belongs to the Ruming farm.
(Open June - Septemper, every Tuesday, Friday & Saturday afternoon)

Years ago it was decided to renovate the mill and open it to the public. In days gone by, the farmers of the village used to bring their grain here to be ground by the miller. Nowadays, the process of grinding the grain can be explained and demonstrated in the renovated mill.

Firstly the water wheel was renewed and then later it was decided to add a wood-fired bread oven. After a lot of searching an original oven was found and rebuilt in the adjacent baking house.

On the way to the mill one passes the new Kneipp Water Gardens by the stream.
A short distance further on, is an interesting herbal garden and normally on Tuesday and Friday afternoon Mrs. Brandstätter is present to show you her attractive little garden.
