The Orts- und Bauernmusik St. Wolfgang was founded on 17 November 1891 under the name Orts- und Veteranenmusik St. Wolfgang. Their main task was to play at church events such as funerals, various processions and to provide the musical backdrop for the club's own parades. The parlour at Au 8 - Moabauer served as the home and rehearsal venue for 77 years. Milestones in the development of the association were the uniformisation in 1951 and the new instrumentation in 1967. Due to the constant growth of the association, on 10 November 1968 the music moved into the converted premises of the "Schwesternhaus", which were made available by the parish of St. Wolfgang. When this also became too small, the parish made an empty classroom of the primary school available to the music in 1985. After years of searching for a suitable place to build a new music centre, our parish priest KR Helmut Köll made it possible to provide a building site in the kindergarten area. We spent around 10,000 hours building our current rehearsal venue. Start of construction: October 1999 - Completion: June 2003
