For those who prefer the mountains, the Feuerkogel Cable Car in Ebensee takes you directly to the famous Höllengebirge. At the upper end of Lake Traunsee lies the famous ceramics town of Gmunden; magnificent castles and ancient monasteries in the surrounding area—such as Ort Lake Castle—bear witness to the eventful history of Lake Traunsee. A ride on the historic paddle steamer from 1871 is the perfect way to truly enjoy the breathtaking mountain panorama.
