How to reach Gmunden railway station in the Traunsee-Almtal region:

We recommend travelling by public transport!

By train:
Via Attnang-Puchheim railway station or from Stainach-Irdning via Bad Aussee and Bad Ischl on the Salzkammergutbahn (line 170) to Gmunden railway station.

Take the Traunseetram (line 161) from Stern & Hafferl to the Gmunden railway station, or from Vorchdorf Eggenberg or Gmunden Engelhof (Park & Ride). The stop is directly at the station.

Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101)

By bus:

OÖVV bus lines 507, 531 and 533, stop "Gmunden Bahnhof" or stop "Abzweigung Bahnhof".

By bike:
Gmunden train station is also very easy to reach by bike. The R2 Salzkammergut cycle path runs almost directly past it, and other regional cycle routes to the centre of Gmunden etc. are also signposted.

By car:
Westautobahn A1 motorway: From Munich/Salzburg or Vienna/Linz – take the A1 Regau exit – B145 to Gmunden, also from Bad Ischl on the B145 – take the Zentrum Gmunden exit, turn off to Gmunden railway station in the immediate vicinity.
