Who is Viktor Kaplan actually?

Prof. Dr. techn. Viktor Kaplan is the inventor of the water turbine named after him, which is used worldwide on rivers and streams to generate electricity.

He acquired the Rochuspoint estate, idyllically situated above Lake Attersee, in 1920. Kaplan died there in August 1934 and was buried in a newly built mausoleum at Rochuspoint.
