Recipe tip for carnival donuts

During the carnival season, the delicious carnival donuts should not be missing. We found a recipe for you in Grandma's recipe book. Very easy and quick to imitate! The following ingredients are required for 10 servings:

500g flour
1 cube of yeast (42g)
250ml milk (room temperature)
50g icing sugar
60g butter
1 teaspoon of salt
4 pieces of egg yolk
1 pinch of sugar
 800 ml oil for frying
 250g apricot jam for filling

A yeast dough is prepared for the donuts. First you have to mix 100ml lukewarm milk and a pinch of sugar with yeast, add 3 tablespoons more and stir. A viscous dough is formed, which is left to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes until bubbles appear. Whisk together the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl. In a large bowl add the flour, softened butter and batter. Now knead everything into a smooth dough, cover and leave to rest for another 60 minutes. Form 20-25 balls from this dough, flatten them and let them rest again until the balls double in size.

Heat the fat to 170 degrees. Fry the donuts until golden on both sides and drain the donuts as you lift them out.

Finally, use a piping bag to inject the jam into the side of the donut. Sprinkle with icing sugar when serving.

Have fun imitating!
