The intimate soundscape of the guitar blends in a unique way with the impressive acoustics of the Mondsee Basilica, opening up a new and moving way to experience Bach’s music. The evening meditation begins **on Wednesday, August 13, at 8:00 p.m.** in the **Mondsee Basilica** **. Admission is free.** On **Wednesday, August 13,** **Zsófia Boros** —one of Europe’s most distinguished guitarists—will perform as a guest artist at **BachZeit** in the Mondsee Basilica. The Vienna-based Hungarian artist captivates audiences worldwide with her unmistakable, subtly nuanced tone, her poetic musicality, and her extraordinary expressiveness. Her interpretations are characterized by a rare combination of technical mastery, tonal transparency, and meditative depth. Not least, her widely acclaimed recordings on the renowned **ECM** label have established her international reputation as one of the most significant guitarists of her generation. Numerous successes at international competitions have marked her artistic career. Early in her career, she won **first prize at the North London Musical Festival**, followed by first prizes at the prestigious **Val Tidone** and **Niccolò Paganini** competitions in Italy, as well as further awards at international guitar competitions in Rome, Gorizia, Portugal, and Bratislava. Today she performs worldwide and is considered one of the leading figures in classical guitar. Her solo recordings on the Munich-based label **ECM New Series** have garnered particular attention. With the albums **“En otra parte”** (2013), **“Local Objects”** (2016), and **“El último aliento”** (2023), Zsófia Boros has released recordings that have been enthusiastically received by the international music press for their sonic subtlety, poetic expressiveness, and extraordinary musical intensity.
