The world-class violinist Prof. Dr. Michael Grube is also a guest in Obertraun this year with the program: Treasure chest of the violin - source of beauty from 4 centuries.


Musical highlight

Prof. Dr. Michael Grube will give a solo concert on his almost 350-year-old N.AMATI-VIOLINE in the community hall of Obertraun.

This year's solo program "Treasure chest of the violin - source of joy from 4 centuries" includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolo Paganini, Wieniawski, Ysaye and Jaques F. Mazas, Campagnioli, Max-Ludwig Grube, Patricia Loncke and Gerhard Track.

Prof. Dr. Michael Grube

The world-famous violinist was born in Überlingen on Lake Constance in 1954 and began playing the violin passionately at the age of four with his father, the violinist and composer Professor Max Ludwig Grube. He was also educated by the two professors Max Rostal and Henryk Szeryng.
A study of musicology and composition followed. Now living in Quito, Ecuador, the star violinist has received numerous awards and honorary citizenships worldwide. On his concert tour this year, the soloist will give about 110 concerts all over the world.
