Against this background, it should also be understood that the Neydhartinger Moor has been remodelled by human use and is no longer in its original state. In terms of its character, the Neydhartinger Moor is a fen with the Wimbach stream flowing through it. It covers an area of around one square kilometre. Incidentally, its healing effects were already praised in the Middle Ages and none other than the famous physician Paracelsus worked in the moor baths.
