Ritzinger forest chapel

Tiefgraben am Mondsee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The wooden chapel in the forest on the trail to the Kolomannsberg is very often visited by locals and guests.
There almost always burns a light.
When the chapel was built, is no longer known. Certainly, however, it was already around 1900. On the one hand, the Wallfahrerweg led to the Kolomanskirche here, on the other hand, the water is under the chapel clockwise and is considered a healing water, which in former times even Salzburg connoisseur.

Unfortunately, thieves had no respect for this gem in the forest. Glasses with inserted figures made in captivity were also stolen, as were beautiful wrought-iron and wooden candlesticks. In the chapel dedicated to St. Is also a memorial site for relatives and friends, whose memory is kept awake by the death pictures attached here.

The Ritzinger Forest Chapel invites you to linger in the silence of the forest, at a time of contemplation and prayer. It is especially beautiful decorated during the Christmas season.
