About 10 years ago, Volkher and Herwig Kaltenböck turned their hobby, brewing beer, into a small but exquisite artisanal brewery [Hausbrauerei Kaltenböck](http://hoangarten.at). As a tribute to our cider tavern 'Mostschenke zum Hoangarten' we called our first beer 'Hoangarten Bier'. In 2010, it was awarded a gold medal in the category unfiltered lager beers at the BeerAG Award at the congress centre in Salzbourg. Starting out with one kind of beer, the Kaltenböck's have developed a fine [assortment](http://hoangarten.at/brauerei/produkte) of various special beers: - Kaltenböck Bier - Hoangarten Bier - Kramperlbock® - Palmsdorfer Ernte - Aurum Purum – IIPA - Rauchbock - Citra-Weißbier - Vitus - Honigbier - Summer-Pils - Pfahlbaubier® (pile dweller's beer) - the beer developed for the Upper Austrian regional exhibition in 2027 Come and try our beers at our cider tavern 'Zum Hoangarten' all year round from Friday to Sunday, 4 pm to midnight.
